Entrepreneur Gift Guide: Work From Home Edition

Work from home life has truly taken over for most of the population – whether you’re a solopreneur, corporate baddie, or a remote worker that really looks forward to your WFH days – it’s a new normal that couldn’t have been fully imagined just a few short years ago.

And as awesome as it is not to have a commute, working from home can also start to feel like groundhogs day realllll fast. After a while, it can be hard to sit down and truly get stuff done (especially when your house chores are begging for your attention instead).

The solution? Romanticize it! ✨

I’ve found that almost anything in life or business can be instantly more fun and exciting when you take the time to intentionally romanticize whatever’s going on.

This is especially true when it comes to writing – defining your ideal writing environment is truly the key to making writing of any kind feel more fun and it involves 4 components. I talk more about each of those here, but the first (and maybe most important) is choosing The Where.

It could be your home office, co-working space, library, coffee shop, your car, the couch, the list goes on.

As humans, we all do our best work differently and it’s important to pay attention to where this is for you.

For me, this is hands down a coffee shop or co-working space because I LOVE being surrounded by other people who are also working.

But sometimessss I don’t have the luxury of packing up all my necessities and going to a coffee shop or co-working space to write for hours on end and I have to lean into the WFH life and this is where my go-to WFH essentials come into play!

So, whether you’re holiday shopping for a biz bestie, dropping not-so-subtle hints to your partner, or just treating yourself this holiday season, this WFH gift guide has you covered!

Gift Ideas For People Who Work From Home

1. Cute blue block glasses

The best gifts are those that are cute AND functional and nothing checks that box quite like blue block glasses! And if you’re like me and sit behind a computer alllll. day. long. then your eyeballs will thank you for these.

Plus, there are some SUPER cute ones out there these days. Here’s my pick!

2. “Clickity clackety” keyboard

I’ve been eyeing a keyboard like this for quite some time and I’m just convinced that it will make my work more fun. Colorful, cute, clickity, clackety – what more could you need?!

3. Comfy cozy slippers

If there’s one thing I will NOT be doing while working from home, it’s wearing real shoes. Even if I have an actual cute outfit on (i.e. anything other than leggings), I WILL be wearing comfy slippers!

I’m a big seasonal slipper girl, so here’s my pick for Christmas, but these are a solid everyday option.

4. Desktop timer

A productivity hack that you probably see talked about alllll the time is time tracking and I AM a big fan of the Pomodoro technique, howeverrrrrr I simply cannot stick to tracking my time on my computer.

I know some people give all their praises to Toggl and I truly want to get consistent with that, but I've tried so many times and can’t. So for me, I think it’s time to get a physical desktop timer and this is the one that’s on my list!

5. No spill HydroJug

I broke up with my Stanley last year and haven’t looked back. The amount of times I knocked it over and spilled it on any given day was making me ANGRY, so I decided to switch it out for a no spill alternative.

This HydroJug is my choice!

6. Icon Glasses for iced coffee

I love, love, LOVE watching people make their homemade iced coffees and pour it into these cutie little icon glasses from Anthro! I’ve yet to snag one for myself, but I think now’s the time because one of my new year goals is to only buy coffee out 1-2 times per week (instead of almost everyday like I’m guilty of now 🙈).

I really do believe the solution to that is having CUTE glasses at home that you want to drink coffee from!

7. Cozy blanket

My husband thinks I’m insane because I insist on having a blanket in every room of our house for easy access - I don’t care if it’s 90 degrees outside, I want to be cozy and comfy and a blanket is simply a must.

Unfortunately my favorite blanket that I’ve been sleeping with since high school is literally from Sam’s Club and I will likely never find another like it… but this one that stays on our couch comes in at a close second!

8. Quality, smell good candle

Never underestimate the power of lighting a candle – it truly changes the whole mood of a room and can make your work from home set up feel so much more luxurious!

Similar to the slippers, I match my candle scents to the season and I am definitely one of those people who has no shame in the HomeGoods candle aisle. BUT if you’re looking for an Anthro dupe, the Better Homes and Garden brand from Walmart is actually reallyyyyy good.

9. Cute yet comfy sweatshirt

Are you really even a WFH girlie without a go-to cute yet comfy sweatshirt? Not in my book! I have a legitimate sweatshirt PROBLEM and can’t stop buying seasonal ones from Shop Kristin Jones.

But I’ve also recently been eyeing this Favorite Daughter one – it’s currently in my Nuuly cart and there’s a good chance I’ll be keeping it.

10. Nuuly subscription

And speaking of Nuuly, if you want to splurge a little bit (either for yourself or for the work from home person on your list), Nuuly is one of my favorite investments to date!

I’ve been renting clothes from Nuuly for almost 2 years now and it’s been a true life saver, especially postpartum. Even though working from home usually means more casual, comfy outfits, I’ve found that I really do work better and feel more productive when I dress in “real” clothes, so I aim to do that at least 3x/week and Nuuly 100% helps me achieve that.

Also, as someone who doesn’t love to splurge on clothes, this subscription gives me the opportunity to try clothes from brands that I typically wouldn’t buy, but then be able to purchase them at a discounted rate if I rent something that I really love and don’t want to part with.

You can gift a month of the subscription to someone or try it for yourself and get $30 off with this link!

And there ya have it! A few fun, functional, and inexpensive gift ideas for the work from home person in your life.

(or if you’re like me – add it all to your cart and treat yourself, duhhh!)
