What It's Like To Be A Writer's Room Girlie

Launching a membership wasn’t on my 2023 bingo card.  It wasn’t on my goal list last year.  It’s not something that I wrote down when I did my yearly planning last January.

I mean don’t get me wrong, like many business owners, a membership or course of some kind has always been in the back of my mind, but I truly thought it wouldn’t come to fruition until YEARS down the road.

But the more that I talked to people on strategy calls and answered peoples questions in the DM’s, it started to become more and more evident that this couldn’t wait.

On strategy calls, people would say things like:

“Is there a way we can do this quarterly?”

“Is there any way you read a few of my blogs before I publish them?”

“Can I send you a few content ideas to make sure I’m thinking in the right direction?”

“Can you give insight about how I can incorporate my blogs into my emails?”

“Do you have any ideas for a lead magnet I could create?”

I LOVED getting these questions and I honestly LOVED helping anytime I could.

But every single time, I just kept wishing that I could help even more.

So that’s when I whipped out a fresh Google doc and started brainstorming. I did this for weeks. Thinking about what exactly this could look like and what would truly be the most helpful.

From that Google Doc, Blogmas was born – a December content challenge that was designed to help people build the consistency of blogging in their business BEFORE the new year even started.

And the rest is history.

No really! During Blogmas, I decided that the momentum people were experiencing couldn’t end. Selfishly I didn’t want it to end. And throughout the three weeks, I kept hearing that neither did they.

So, that’s how The Writer’s Room came to be what it is today.

A Done-WITH-you Blog Writing Membership for business owners, service providers, and creatives of all kinds to have community, accountability, support, and feedback.

It’s a continuation of what Blogmas was (with MUCH more) because I believe it’s time for writing and content creation in your business to be the thing you look forward to MOST – not the thing you dread and procrastinate every time you see it on your to-do list.

There’s no reason that content creation in your business should feel like pulling teeth. You shouldn’t have to stare at a blinking cursor on a Google Doc each time you sit down to write, question if your content ideas are good enough, or procrastinate one of the most important tasks in your business.

There’s a better way!

Using what I know about blog and email marketing, The Writer’s Room is infused with the perfect mix of accountability, resources, and community so that you have everything you need to write the words that fuel your business on a consistent basis with confidence and ease.

But in case you’re wondering what it looks like to be a Writer’s Room girlie on a more tactical level, I want to break it down. ⬇️

A Peek Inside The Writer’s Room Membership

My ultimate goal for you as a Writer’s Room member is to fall in love with writing and content creation for your business again.

As business owners and service providers, it's so easy to work non-stop for our clients and procrastinate work for OUR business. I’m guilty of this too!

The Writer’s Room serves as a dedicated space for you to work on your business (versus IN your business) consistently and have accountability and community while you do it!

Here’s how:

➡️ Quarterly

Every quarter in The Writer’s Room, you have a few core things to look forward to:

1) Quarterly Challenges

The Writer’s Room was born from a challenge that I hosted in December 2023 called Blogmas. During that, I realized that people LOVE a challenge and a little frienldy competition. So it was only right that we continue that inside the membership with quarterly challenges that help members focus and prioritize specific things in your business that help you move the needle.

2) Quarterly Guest expert calls

As a business owner, I follow, look up to, and love to learn from so many different industry adjacent experts and I wanted to give my members a way to learn from these people on a deeper level. Every quarter I invite a new guest that I trust to train on a specific topic that members are wanting to know more about.

Here’s a peek at our past guest trainings:

(You get access to all of these recordings when you join!)

3) Quarterly Blog Content Planning Parties

Every quarter we meet on Zoom for Quarterly Blog Content Planning Parties! These were born out of my love of celebration, so I turned my simple process for planning your blog content 3 months in advance into a party that we do together. 🎉

It’s an exclusive way to make sure that you’re strategically planning your blog content so that you’re never left wondering what to write about in the moment – instead you have a plan for it ahead of time and can act accordingly.

Oh and if you’re wondering why exactly I encourage you to plan your blog content 3 months in advance, I explain why here!

4) Quarterly Community Calls

We all know that entrepreneurship can be lonely and sometimes you just need a yap session with someone that feels like an unofficial co-worker. That’s what these community calls are for! No topic or training - just vibes.

5) Quarterly Blog Backburner Calls

These quarterly calls simply serve as a power hour for you to work on any blog backburner tasks that you've been meaning to implement, but just haven't made time for.

What's a blog backburner task you may ask? It's simply something you've been meaning to add, edit, refine, or maybe even remove from your blog as a whole that isn't necessarily urgent, but IS helpful and impactful for your business or blog overall.

➡️ Bi-Monthly

Every other month you’re invited to attend an exclusive training centered around marketing, blogging, email marketing, and more based on what members seem to need the most – all hosted by me!

Here’s a peek of what we’ve covered in the past:

(You get access to all of these recordings when you join!)

➡️ Weekly

On Wednesdays we wear pink write. 💅🏼

You’ll never catch me passing up a Mean Girls reference, but don't worry – I’m very much not a mean girl and you CAN sit with us!

Every Wednesday in The Writer’s Room, I host Co-writing Wednesday which is just my fancy way of saying accountability calls where we meet on Zoom for a dedicated hour of writing time. You’ll work on your content, I’ll work on mine!

Once you’ve done your writing for the week, you then have the opportunity to submit one written piece of content to receive feedback before publishing!

Think of it like your best friend proofreading a text message before you sent it to your crush in high school.

“How does this sound? Should I reword this? Anything I should add or delete?”

This is an accountability piece that so many members say makes them do the work that they otherwise might procrastinate or put off completely!

➡️ Daily / Whenever you need

With your membership, you get access to a dedicated portal that’s filled with an exclusive Writing Resource Vault that you can access anytime you need!

Inside the vault, you’ll find various resources to help you with all sorts of things when it comes to writing in your business.

Not sure what to write about?

Need to get creative with your CTA’s?

Struggling with titling your blog posts?

There’s a resource for that!

And when you’re feeling stuck in your own head – because let's be real, entrepreneurship can be SUPER lonely – you can turn to the exclusive Slack channel that’s filled with your new unofficial coworkers!

It’s the place members go to ask questions, get feedback, bounce ideas back and forth, and most importantly, hype each other up.

No really. 👇🏼

The Writer’s Room FAQ’s

➡️ What if I don’t have a blog?

As a blog writer for business owners, I’m of course always going to encourage the use of a blog in your business, but I also know that blogs aren't everyone's preferred piece of long form content.

Ultimately what I want is for you to have *some* sort of long form content channel that you prioritize that allows you to work smarter, not harder. For you that might be a podcast or YouTube channel and if that’s the case for you, you’re STILL welcome here!

The Writer’s Room is a dedicated place for you to put client work to the side for a period of time and work on YOUR business through some type of content creation.

Need to write a podcast episode script? Do it! Working on your next YouTube video topic? Fine by me. Creating a new lead magnet for your email list? I’m so here for it.

➡️ What if I don’t know what blog topics to write about?

Great question! We all experience writer’s block here and there. In The Writer’s Room, you’ll have access to an exclusive Writing Resource Vault that includes blog and email content ideas on an ongoing basis.

➡️ What’s the membership investment?

You’ve got two options – quarterly or monthly.

If you choose the quarterly option, you’ll be billed $285 every 3 months. If monthly is more your thing, it’s only $97!

➡️ Who exactly is The Writer’s Room for?

The Writer’s Room is perfect for the person who:

  • is a business owner, service provider, or creative that struggles to stay consistent with your content creation efforts, but you really want to change that

  • wants to start creating content for your audience consistently, but find it difficult to come up with new content ideas

  • is ready to prioritize long form content in your business and is seeking a community to do it alongside

  • wants accountability to do the work that you typically might procrastinate or avoid altogether

  • wants the ability to ask for feedback before publishing your content
