Why Implementing Consistent Blog Content In Q4 Is A Smart Move

You’ve made it to the last quarter of the year and, as a business owner, it’s often a busy one!

You might be reflecting back on the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year and are making moves to mark them off.

Maybe you’re prepping for Black Friday, are signing clients for your last openings of the year, or maybe even launching a new offer altogether.

Not to mention all of the life things coming your way – holiday season is in full swing, so in between client work and work for your business, you’re also likely making Halloween costumes, perfecting your Thanksgiving menu, and Christmas shopping for all the people in your life.

In the midst of it all, you might’ve decided to take a few weeks (or maybe even a whole month!) off for yourself. And if that’s the case, I’m so here for it.

But before you say goodbye to more work altogether, I might convince you that NOW is actually the best time you could implement consistent blog content in your business.

I know, I know – it usually makes sense to start something new in the *new* year, but there’s a few reasons why starting your blog content before January is a smart move.

3 Reasons Why You Should Start Blogging In Your Business Before The New Year

  • Increased Year-End Website Traffic

With holiday shopping, year-end planning, and people seeking solutions to meet their goals before the new year, web traffic typically spikes in Q4.

In fact, research has shown that the percentages can be up to 30-50% higher compared to other quarters depending on your industry.

By publishing high-quality, relevant blog content during this period, your business has a better chance of capturing new audiences looking for your products, services, or expertise.

This gives YOUR website a chance to be among those higher percentages for increased website visits, more engagement, and potentially more conversions!

If you really want to up your odds of appearing in Google searches during Q4, focus on creating seasonal content that aligns with year-end trends, holidays, and even national days that people are naturally gravitated towards during this time of year!

And if you’re not sure HOW to go about creating seasonal blog content? That’s exactly what I teach in The Writer’s Room during our Quarterly Blog Content Planning Parties!

  • Boost Your SEO For 2025

I’ve never been one to preach blogging in your business for *just* SEO purposes, but it's no secret that SEO is a huge benefit of consistent blogging.

With that said, however, SEO is a long game and the results don’t happen overnight. It’s something that builds over time the more that you do it.

By deciding to blog consistently starting in Q4, you’ll be laying the groundwork for improved search engine rankings before the new year even begins, which can put you ahead of your competition that’s decided to wait until January.

Each blog post that you publish on your website is a new opportunity to target keywords, answer questions, and provide valuable content that your audience AND search engines will love.

Since SEO research can be time consuming and is one of those things that can be hard to fit into your weekly routine among all the other things you have going on, Q4 is a GREAT time to start before you have all of your new year goals looming over you!

  • Build The Habit Now Versus Later

The new year is a time where you naturally start to set new goals and create new habits. And while that can be a GREAT thing, sometimes it’s best to establish new habits and routines before you have the added pressure of January 1 looming over you.

Even though I love a fresh start and January brings the ultimate fresh start for all of us, it’s no secret that our mind is filled with a whole lot of NEW at the start of the new year.

Whether it be the health goals that you’ve set for yourself, a new reading or journaling habit that you want to pick up, a food plan, a morning or evening routine, the list goes on.

And that doesn’t even include all of the goals that you set for your business.

With all of this *new*, it can become real overwhelming, real fast, which is why I’m a big fan of NOT waiting until January 1.

In fact, in 2023 I hosted a free challenge called Blogmas that helped people start their blogging habit in December – arguably the busiest month of the year for so many.

I had over 100 people join the challenge and the goal was simple: write one blog post a week for 3 weeks.

By doing so, they were developing the habit of weekly writing so that come January, they could simply continue what they were already doing instead of trying to overhaul another part of their life or business.

It helped them create momentum in their business and get a head start on getting into a blogging routine that can serve them for years to come!

If you’re starting a blog for your business from scratch, the FIRST step is choosing your posting consistency. And if you already have a blog in your business, but you haven’t been consistent with it, I want you to start in the same place, too.

Decide how many blogs you’re going to publish per month and then follow these steps to create a strategic blog content plan for your business!
