One Of My Top Business Values
Just the other day I received this message from one of my business besties:
It’s not just something you can throw together overnight and hope for the best.
Now, I don’t show that message to say, “yay me!” or “go me!” – I simply bring this up to share one of the top values that I hold in my business.
INTENTIONALITY.
The Power of Intentionality In Your Business
By definition, intentionality means to do something deliberate or purposive.
Deliberate means you do something under full consideration, NOT impulsive.
And purposive means to have, serve, or do with a purpose.
In online business, you see different things being thrown at you daily – there’s constantly a new product, service, or course you can buy that promises XYZ.
“Buy this $7 PDF to transform the systems in your business.”
“Quit your 9-5 when you learn how to sell through my course.”
“Master your marketing with my year’s worth of email templates.”
And while some of these products and services really might be great and could be beneficial depending on what you’re looking for, more often than not, these products and services have been thrown together with little to no intention just so that the person selling can make a buck.
And honestly – I get it. It’s never been easier to create and sell something.
We live in a world that preaches passive income and if you’re in a current work situation that you think is less than ideal, you might see other people doing this type of work and think that you should do it too.
But when you play into this way of doing business, I want you to think about the person on the other side of the transaction:
Are they really winning?
Are they getting TRUE value or is it just information that they can find for free on the Internet?
Is it really the thing they need to get the result that you promised?
These are the questions that I consider before I EVER launch something new – whether it be free or paid.
Heck, these are questions that we all should be asking even when it comes to the content we create.
Is it actually helpful?
Can someone take action from this?
Will this help someone move closer to their desired result?
This is the intentionality piece. The deliberate creation.
And this is the very reason that my product suite and even my free resources are slim – because I want them to be done on purpose with true intention!
Could I brainstorm a few additional services and create a few paid resources for people to buy? You bet.
But if they don’t have a deeper purpose behind them, if they haven’t been fully thought through, and if I don’t have my audience’s best interest at heart… I don’t want to.
If you’re a business owner, especially in the online business world, I encourage you to reflect and consider – is intentionality missing in your business?
Are you constantly creating new products, resources, or content just for the sake of creating? Or are you doing so with your audience truly in mind?
I believe that this value is often lost in the business world (especially in our current TikTok era that preaches “easy money”) and when you make it a core part of how you run your business, it can be the very thing that helps you stand out!
I’m curious – what are your top business values? What are your thoughts on this intentionality piece?

Oh and P.S. That project I mentioned above that I’ve been dreaming up this year? It’s coming to life NEXT WEEK (11/15), so stay tuned for all of the details. 👀
